My 8"10".5" oil palette knife and brush painting, "Relinquished", has richly textured trees, revealing their "bone structure" against the value tones of winter. The title suggests the place in life where we relinquish ourselves and open up our hearts and minds to fresh inspiration and new possibilities.

I love aspens in winter. Their beautiful white trunks and dark branches mingle with the dark shadows cast upon the white snow, creating a profound beauty that is best experienced in silence.

My 36"x36" abstract oil painting titled, "Square Dance", was quickly snatched up by a collector shortly after I painted it a number of years ago.  

The theme of this painting is, "Opposites Attract".  I applied complimentary colors next to each other to create an evocative synergy.  My patron tells me that everyone who sees this painting wants it.  That makes me smile.

Drawing never came naturally to me, it was grueling. It wasn't until I learned proportioning that I understood how to do it. With practice, I could finally say that I loved to draw. It's a wonderful way to express feelings. If you've ever wanted to learn, it's never too late. And, if I can learn, anyone can! - Jill Saur

Chattahoochee River Painting

I've long been enthralled by the Chattahoochee River.  Living north of Atlanta, it's one of the few places that a soul has to wander that's not too far from home.  It's possible to spend a nice amount of time gazing at the fast moving waters in complete solitude.  This particular area is called, Jones Bridge.  The old bridge has since come down and a new one is being built so that other wandering souls can cross from one side to the other.

This 36"x 36" acrylic painting on wide border canvas has a kinetic that carries your eye along the water's path to the focal point.  The dramatic stark white tree is accentuated by the blazing colors of fall.  One of my favorite things to include in my artwork is a path.  Paths are one of the most significant reminders of the daily choices that we make in our life's journey.

 Joy evoking and loaded with texture is what I intended for my 20"x16" palette knife painting, "Happy In Blue." There's a world of difference between joy and happiness. I find joy to be deeply rooted in ones soul and it doesn't depend on outward circumstances.
