“A tree against the sky possesses the same interest, the same character, the same expression as the figure of a human. – George Rouault”. (French painter)

I rendered my 38”x48” acrylic aspen tree painting with brush and palette knife.  I closed my eyes and mused on one of my trips to Colorado, where the blue azure sky against the dancing white aspen trees ignite a flame of inspiration.  The title of this painting is, “Resilient Beauty”.  It hangs in the home of one of my patrons.  However, a limited edition hand-embellished giclee is available to purchase.  I also paint commissions.  Email me, CLICK HERE.

Commission A Dog Painting

My lovely client, Alison, commissioned me to paint her beloved dog.  This is, "Bella".  I can't help but spend whatever time is necessary to capture the essence of any creature that I paint and this endeavor was no exception.
These are my clients words in regards to the outcome of this painting:   "I could not be more pleased at how Jill’s portrait of my dog, Bella, turned out. She truly captured her essence. I love this painting and I will cherish it long after Bella is gone. It definitely exceeded my expectations and my expectations were high because I know what an amazing artist Jill is."

DO OPPOSITES REALLY ATTRACT?  YOU BET THEY DO!!!!

My 36"x36" abstract oil painting titled, "Square Dance", was quickly snatched up by a collector shortly after I painted it a number of years ago.

The theme of this painting is, "Opposites Attract".  I applied complimentary colors next to each other to create an evocative synergy.  My patron tells me that everyone who sees this painting wants it.  That makes me smile.

If you're looking for a dynamic expressive abstract painting, please consider commissioning me to paint one for you.  I love working with clients and coming up with a dynamic painting just for them!  And, your satisfaction is guaranteed!

Glowing with the light of the moon, these two 36"x48" aspen tree paintings, "Circle of Quiet One" and "Circle of Quiet Two" were purchased by one of my collector's.

My over-sized paintings are usually purchased to be the focal point of a big room.  It's also interesting to note that a larger work of art can actually make a smaller room appear to be much bigger than it is.

My artwork hangs in both homes and corporations.  Please visit my website to see what my patrons have to say about purchasing my art and also read what they say about commissioning their own original with me.   CLICK HERE

Buy Corporate Art, Atlanta Ga.

A great painting sparks the right hemisphere of our brains, stimulating ideas, and ideas are the root of creativity.  If you surround yourself with art that inspires you, your life will be greatly enriched!
Studies in work environments have shown that the productivity of an employee is elevated by as much as 25% when they are exposed to original art in their everyday jobs. This doesn’t surprise me.  Art that makes us feel good can uplift our moods and give us a greater sense of well-being.  Whether in a home or business, I'm honored that my paintings are hung in a prominent place for all to enjoy.

When a corporate office is enhanced with original art, the environment is elevated to a dynamic level that will incentivize both employees and clients!

Are you looking for a portrait of your sweet fido's face?  Well, you're in the right place.  I love dogs, and I especially love to paint them.  You'll need to give me a detailed photograph or send me a high-resolution j-peg of your dog.  I'll give you a time frame that it'll take for me to paint your dogs portrait. Your satisfaction is guaranteed. Period.
This is my latest dog portrait of a very wonderful goldendoodle, Sunny.  A dogs eyes and all of its facial features simply ooze it's wonderful personality.  I prefer to primarily focus on this part of the dog.  The more you try to encompass the entire body, the smaller the eyes become.  To me, it's all about the eyes.

Commission Artwork Atlanta, GA.

I love Van Gogh.  People often associate Van Gogh with his tumultuous life and don't realize he was a master artist, draftsman, and color theory genius.

A few weeks ago I was inspired to paint this heavily textured palette knife painting using brilliant azure blues, effusive reds, and warm golds.  Although I painted this spontaneously,  I still used my knowledge of color theory and the elements of principle and design.

After concentrating on using those elements for so many years, they just seem to come naturally to me now.  When someone asks me how long it took me to complete a particular painting,  I'm tempted to reply, "Oh, about thirty years or so."

This 16"x20" textured acrylic palette knife flower painting is titled, "Red on Blue."  This painting sold through one of my representing galleries.  I'm extremely thankful to have folks who appreciate and love my work.  If you're interested in purchasing a similar original, please consider commissioning a painting with me.

The Importance of Learning to Draw

Van Gogh's Letter To Theo: Learning To Draw
It’s more or less the same with drawing as with writing. When one learns to write as a child, one has the feeling that one will never discover how to do it, and it seems to be a miracle when one sees the schoolmaster write so quickly. Nevertheless, in time one grasps it. And I really believe that one must learn to draw in such a way that it’s as easy as writing something down, and that one must master proportion and learn to see in such a way that one can reproduce at will whatever one sees on a larger or smaller scale. - Van Gogh

Drawing never came naturally to me.  I had to learn.  It was grueling for me, until I finally found a teacher who taught proportioning.  The light went on and I haven't turned back since.

Chattahoochee River Painting

Atlanta is a big city and people here don't realize there are thousands of acres along the Chattahoochee River that have been preserved as part of the National Park Service.  When you get out in these areas, you realize you could be anywhere! The scenery is breathtaking, there are no sounds of cars, the air is fresh, and it's quiet!

My 48"x36" acrylic painting of Sope Creek, is titled, "Autumn Promise".  I'm thankful to live in such a beautiful area where I can get lost in nature and have my artistic senses refreshed.

Are you interested in this painting?  Or, would you like to commission your own painting? I love to paint commissions.  Your satisfaction is 100% guaranteed!  Visit my website and see what my happy patrons have to say!  CLICK HERE

Aspen Tree Paintings

Martin Glaser, a legendary New York graphic designer, famous for creating the ‘I Love New York’ logo, recently spoke about something that’s dear to my heart.  Martin said, “If you can sustain your interest in what you’re doing, you’re an extremely fortunate person.  What you see very frequently in people’s professional lives, and perhaps in their emotional life as well, is that they lose interest in the third act.  You sort of get tired, and indifferent, and sometimes, defensive and you kind of lose your capacity for astonishment, and that’s a great loss, because the world is a very astonishing place.”

Most of my clients lead very busy lives, are professional businessmen and women, own businesses and some are taking care of large families.  I also stay very busy with my classes, painting, and the business side of what I do.  It takes determination to stop and re-charge the creative side, but it's vitally important.

I’m in the third act of my life and  I still find wonder in observing nature, seeing the cloud formations before a storm, and getting up early to watch the sunrise over the misty waters of the Chattahoochee River.

I agree with Martin Glaser, the world is a very astonishing place and I hope you're able to take the necessary time to be utterly astonished too!   www.JillSaurFineArt.com
