Commission a Painting in Sarasota/Lakewood Ranch Florida

I'm Jill Saur, and I love to paint commissions.  My process alleviates the guesswork and stress a client might have as to the outcome of their commission.  I've been incredibly blessed to have the nicest clients which motivates me even further to meet their expectations.  After seeing my process below, you can contact me through my website: www.JillSaur.com.

This 30"x40" commissioned piece titled, "Buckhead Vista," was painted back in Atlanta.  Below, you can see photos of my process and my clients review. - Jill Saur

From my clients who commissioned 30"x40" "Buckhead Vista"

"Jill made our first original painting experience incredibly special. We approached Jill after finding her work online wanting to commission a painting of the view from our Buckhead balcony. Our intent was to capture the beauty of the view to feature in our future homes, and we specifically picked Jill due to her ability to capture the vibrance of natural and man-made landscapes.

Jill worked with us to pick our favorite photo of the balcony view and fine-tuned it to the perfect depiction of a fall day looking north to the mountains. Throughout the process, Jill was extremely communicative and sent our family regular progress updates.  She worked tirelessly to perfect every aspect of the photo and we couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. We are so excited to have this unique piece in our family and will cherish it for years to come!" Thank you for everything, Jill! Best, Cara - Buckhead, GA.

I chose hues from my personal color charts that matched up with the enhanced colors in the photo from Cara's balcony.

I mixed paint on six palette's for this project.

Stratocumulus clouds are very difficult to paint.  I painted a work-up sky on a smaller canvas, working out my strategy for the sky, emailed it to my clients, and then I began the larger piece.

After getting further along with the sky, I painted a yellow underpainting for the trees and foliage. This way, the painting would have a beautiful glow.

This next photo shows the beginnings of the foliage.

The street scenes were very complicated.  Not wanting to settle for anything less than spectacular, I painted them several times to get the perspective and size correct.  Below, you can see the finished result.

Owning abstract paintings offers more than just decorative appeal; it brings a sense of personal connection and emotional resonance to a space. Abstract art allows viewers to interpret the piece in their own way, making it a unique and personal experience for each individual. It can evoke emotions, spark creativity, and inspire new perspectives, enriching the environment in which it is displayed. Additionally, owning original abstract works supports artists and adds value to a collection, as each piece is a one-of-a-kind creation that embodies the artist’s vision and energy. The dynamic and timeless nature of abstract art makes it a versatile choice for any setting, offering both aesthetic beauty and a profound, intangible value that grows over time.

This 9"x 12" cold wax and oil medium painting is titled, "Genesis."  This painting and other abstract works of art, are available to purchase on my website.

I also love to paint commissions and I can paint the canvas size your looking for, with the colors to enhance and compliment your space.  Thanks for viewing - Jill Saur

Abstract Wall Art - Sarasota, Lakewood Ranch, and Tampa, FL

DO OPPOSITES REALLY ATTRACT?  YOU BET THEY DO!!!!

©1990-2021 Abstract Oil Painting by Jill Saur, all rights reserved

My 36"x36" abstract oil painting titled, "Square Dance", was quickly snatched up by a collector shortly after I painted it a number of years ago.

The theme of this painting is, "Opposites Attract".  I painted complimentary colors next to each other to create an evocative synergy.  My patron tells me that everyone who sees this painting just loves it.  That makes me smile.

Are you using zoom to conduct virtual business meetings? Instead of using a virtual background, a blank wall, or a potted plant behind you, why not consider original art to show off your individuality?  I'm always fascinated when I see original artwork hanging behind the presenter on their computer.  I find the person who's speaking to be more interesting.

If you're looking for a dynamic expressive abstract painting, or one that is more subdued,  please consider commissioning me to paint one for you.  I love working with clients and coming up with a dynamic painting just for them!  And, your satisfaction is guaranteed!

Please visit my website and read what patrons have to say about owning one of my original paintings.  Thanks for viewing!  Jill Saur -  My website:  CLICK HERE

The Mona Lisa Upside Down

The Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci (Upside Down)

When I was in art school, I learned an invaluable trick from one of my professors.  When I was working on a painting and wanted to really tell how it was coming along, I would turn it upside down, walk away, and study it.  My professor would say, "If it looks good upside down, then you know it will look good right side up".  If something just looked off when it was upside down, it would usually be the key area that I needed to work on when it was right-side up.

Here is one of the most recognized and beautiful paintings of all time.  Just look how exquisite Leonardo Da Vinci's painting, "The Mona Lisa", looks when she is turned upside-down!  Whether you are an artist, or a photographer, if you have not tried this when critiquing your work, I guarantee that it will help! - Jill Saur

Commission A Painting in Sarasota/Lakewood Ranch/Bradenton, FL.

10,368,000 heartbeats and 480,000 brushstrokes later, I finished my grizzly bear painting. 🙂 I've taken it to my photographer to be photographed and archived. After much thought, I decided to name this 36"x48" grizzly bear painting, "Noble Encounter." I painted this for one of my collectors.

If you have an idea for a commission, whether an abstract painting or representational, I love to paint commissions. I have clients throughout the United States that collect my work.  My studio is in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.  Please contact me and let's discuss what you're looking for.  All of my info is on my website.    - Jill Saur

Abstract Paintings Lakewood Ranch/Sarasota/Bradenton, FL

My 36"x24" acrylic painting, "Ultramarine Abstract" radiates emotional depth with swaths of ultramarine blue, a color that feels both infinite and intimate. The canvas is alive with layered strokes—some fluid and sweeping, others sharp and urgent—creating a rhythm that pulls the viewer inward. Variations in tone range from deep, velvety midnight blues to luminous, electric highlights, suggesting movement like ocean currents or shifting skies. It's as if the painting is in constant dialogue with the unseen. The absence of representational forms gives the ultramarine and other blues the space to speak its own language—one of mystery, and boundless possibility.

This painting will soon be available to purchase and collect on my website.  I also love to paint commissions.  You choose the size canvas and colors that will elevate your surroundings.  - Jill Saur
