Aspen Tree Painting Giclee "Autumn Gold" by Jill Saur

I wrote about this painting a few weeks ago on my blog and a new patron in Hollywood, Fla. ordered a hand-embellished giclee of it.  I want to show some enlarged images of the thickly textured paint that I added to this piece.  It looks like a new original.  I had a lot of fun working on this.  Since the original is sold, I know that I will probably have to do this for myself one day because this is one of my favorite paintings.  This giclee of "Autumn Gold" is 30"x40".

Andrew Wyeth

Andrew Wyeth is one of the most revered American artists and is certainly one of my favorites!  I had hoped to meet him before he passed away, but the opportunity did not present itself.

I have read a number of biographies on this disciplined, talented and mysterious man.  When I was in art school, I wrote a paper on him and delivered an oral presentation to a group of students who had no idea
of the genius of this man.

I am most impressed by Andrew Wyeth's early life and artistic discipline as a young boy, when he would draw from real life, and study with his father, N.C. Wyeth,  a well-known illustrator.  Andrew and his father would roam the fields and bring in the bones and carcasses of deceased wild animals for Andrew to study and draw.

I love that Andrew Wyeth puts so much feeling into his work, and it shows with his brilliant imagery, texture, and subject matter.  Andrew Wyeth was given free reign to enter his neighbors homes and paint them even while they were asleep!  One of my favorite paintings is the third one below.  Andrew captured a long time friend while he was asleep, and it is fraught with feeling!

I will never forget one of Andrew Wyeth's practices.  He didn't show his work to anyone before it was completed because he felt he would lose the power with which he painted it.  Andrew didn't want to be more concerned about someones reaction than his own intentions.

Though my work is entirely different than Andrew Wyeth, he has forever impacted me as an artist.  I never start a new endeavor without feeling a passion for what I am painting.  I think about what I want to convey and I put all that I have into it.

I am thankful for the life of this man and the legacy he has left behind.  - Jill Saur

BUY ART - Aspen Tree Painting by Jill Saur

This 48"x36" acrylic painting on a wide border canvas is elegant, stunning, and always draws compliments from those who see it.  I was inspired to paint this from viewing the aspens in Colorado in the early evening during Fall.  Those who know me, know how much I love aspen trees.  Once you have stood amongst a grove of white aspens, heard their quaking leaves, and felt the peaceful quiet of the forest, you will want to return often.

My aspen paintings give my patrons the opportunity to be reminded of this tree's majestic beauty.  This original painting can be purchased at the Frameworks Gallery, in Marietta, GA.
Their phone number is (770) 973-6701.  I invite you to become a collector and experience the joy of owning artwork that inspires and uplifts your soul.

In my mind, I am re-visiting a trip my husband and I took to Estes Park, Colorado. We stayed one mile from the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. For nine wonderful days, Tom and I were able to photograph my favorite subject matter, aspen trees! The elk and aspens were abundant, and the weather was enchanting. Tom is a great photographer and he was in his element.

We met some wonderful photographers, and were delighted by how nice they were to share some of their favorite places to capture amazing shots.

This was my first trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. The leaves were changing up at Bear Lake and I think we went there at least three different times. We got some of our best photos there.

Our National Parks are a gift to be treasured!

Tree Landscape Painting "Radiant Peace" by Jill Saur

I just finished this 11"x14" palette knife painting today for a new collector in California.  This is a river I came across in Taos, New Mexico.  It was a special moment because the lighting was radiant as it streamed through a path in the woods and onto the water.  I just knew that I had to paint it.  This is a different version from another painting that I did several years ago of the same scene.  I suppose that one day when I am old and gray, I will still remember this river and how glorious it felt to stumble upon it.

Aspen Tree Painting "Golden Vibrance" by Jill Saur

Santa Fe, New Mexico, inspired this acrylic painting on canvas.  I spent about two weeks there several years ago and just got lost in the trees (figuratively of course).  The aspen trees are interconnected by their roots and they actually support one another!  I call them "The Giving Trees". All of my work is available on my website:

"Ambiance" by Jill Saur

One of my faithful collector's acquired this painting from me yesterday.  It's entitled, "Ambiance" for  the soft glow and warm feeling that radiates from the canvas.  I am thankful to have collector's that return to me for more artwork because they love what I do.

If I lived to be a thousand years old,  it still would not be enough time to paint all the things that I am interested in painting.  Knowing that my time on this earth is limited to an earthly time frame, it causes me to be more mindful of what I do paint.  I want each and every new piece to be meaningful and I continue to put my entire self into each new work of art.
